This extraordinary wooden helmet mask is unique with its style and imagery reflecting the skilled sculptors of the Gola people from Liberia and Sierra Leone. This helmet mask fits over the head, but is more akin to a face mask, full casque, or helmet style mask. Beautifully carved with complex symbolism, this mask is in excellent condition with obvious signs of long use and care of preservation.
