Bobo Ceremonial Animal Mask

The Bobo people of Burkina Faso used masks like this one in ceremony to heal nature and restore equilibrium before crops were planted and after harvests were taken from the land. The style of the masks varied widely from village to village as each community had their own unique collection of designs.
